Appreciation for the Too Faced White Peach palette
I purchased the Too Faced White Peach palette from Sephora on the first day it was released, not bothering to watch any YouTube reviews or look it up on makeup blogs the way I usually do when a new makeup product launches. This could be seen as a bit of a risky move considering Too Faced’s somewhat hit-or-miss reputation, but I loved the very first Sweet Peach palette (which I own and have been using almost daily since I bought it) so I had good feelings about this one.
If the original Sweet Peach was warm peachy tones, I feel like the White Peach is slightly more pink and a little less warm. In my opinion it’s got a good mix of mattes and shimmers/glitters, just like the original Sweet Peach palette. I did try out the all-matte Just Peachy palette back when that was released but I seem to be the only person on the internet who didn’t care for it and I ended up returning it. What can I say, I like a bit of sparkle!
Back to the White Peach palette, I love the quality of these eyeshadows. I find them creamy, pigmented, and blendable. I was especially impressed with the shade Peach Passion (sparkly purple black) because unlike its disappointing doppelgänger in the original Sweet Peach, the shade in this pallet is outstandingly black and sparkly. It doesn’t sheer out to a weak grey; instead I find it to be pretty much true to pan and a standout color. Peach Passion aside though I really do love all the other colors as well- none of them was a dud for me. I saw some complaints about these eyeshadows being powdery or chalky but I didn’t find them so, maybe because I use only synthetic brushes and don’t press hard on the pans? There was a bit of kickback but nothing I’d call major, and no fallout during application.
Today I applied Peach Smoothie all over my lid as my base. I then used Creme de la Peach as my transition shade and Sweet Fig in the crease, with a touch of On the Grill in the outer corner. For my bottom lid I applied Glistening Peach blending out into Peach Passion as I got to the outer corner. I also applied Glistening Peach in the center of my upper eyelid as a sort of highlight. Peaches and Dreams I used in the inner corner of my eye, and I used a clean brush with Peach Cream to make sure the edges were blended out smoothly. Overall I tried to keep it light and focused on the peachy/pink tones. A stripe of black winged eyeliner and a swipe of mascara after curling my lashes, and I was done! I use these eyeshadows over Too Faced Shadow Insurance eye primer and they lasted 12+ hours on me without creasing or fading. I did not use a setting spray or touch up my makeup during that time.
