Vitamin Mask for Winter Dullness
Today I had some time alone at home, so I decided to pamper my skin and try a new face mask. I had a packet of the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Face Mask that I got as a free sample with a Sephora order. I’ve never tried this product before so I washed my face, patted my skin dry and put my hair in a ponytail. Time to mask!
The mask had a really interesting appearance. I squeezed about a quarter sized blob onto my fingers and it reminded me of orange marmalade. It was an apricot color and smelled pleasantly fruit. Texture was definitely a bit jammy, which is to say firm but softly spreadable. I smoothed the mask onto my cheeks and then rubbed it gently over my entire face. Although it was a pretty dark orange color when I had it in a blob on my fingers, as I spread it over my face the color sheered out and the mask was not noticeable on my skin. Today I was alone so it didn’t matter, but I’d say this is a boyfriend/husband/roommate friendly mask. (Unlike sheet masks, which I love but can be a bit startling in appearance for those around you!)
As per instructions I left the mask on for 10-15 minutes while I had some tea and watched a couple YouTube videos. It dried down to a somewhat tacky feeling but it was comfortable on the skin. The directions say to wipe the mask off with warm water and a cotton pad or washcloth but I just used warm water and my hands. After all that, my skin definitely felt fresh and glowy! Some of that glow was probably the natural effect of washing and rubbing my face, but the mask definitely felt extra nice and pampering for my skin. With all this dry winter air I’ve noticed some dullness, and after using this vibrancy boosting mask I saw more brightness and smoothness in my complexion than I usually get after doing my normal skincare routine.
The sample packet contained enough product to cover my whole face but there was plenty left over, and I think I’ll be able to get one more full application with what remains. I look forward to it!
